The Polar Bear Letters Contest
The Polar Bears on Thin Ice campaign will address 9 to 16 year-olds and will propose ways for them to reflect on climate change, and means to individual and collective action.
From December 1st, 2009, to February 28, 2010, students will be asked to send a letter to the bear to explain their understanding of climate change issues and ways of addressing them on a personal and family level as well as on the level of society as a whole. In these letters they will also be able to describe their personal commitments to reduce their own energy consumption. These letters and personal commitments by young people will be posted by them on the project Web site and sent to Canadian decision-makers.
